We have partnered with an established and reputable Insurance company in their search for a new Assistant Controller. This is a great opportunity for an Accounting professional with sufficient exposure to the Insurance industry to take on a managerial position that will offer opportunities for growth and advancement.
The Assistant Controller will be responsible for a wide variety of accounting, finance, and compliance duties, including but not limited to: managing the company’s month-end close process; preparation and review of journal entries; hands-on oversight and review of the G/L account reconciliation process; Statutory financial reporting, including preparation and review of Financial Statements; oversight of Payroll system; assistance with Budgeting & Analysis; and serving as key liaison to external Auditors.
To be considered, candidates should have five (5) or more years of Accounting experience, with at least 2 years of relevant P&C Insurance industry experience (in either public accounting or industry). CPA or CPA candidate preferred, and Bachelor’s degree is required. Working knowledge of Statutory (STAT) financial reporting is needed, in addition to previous supervisory experience.
