Expanding, fast-paced company is seeking a Controller for a key position at the company’s new HQ office in Austin. The Controller will lead a small but growing team, while managing all accounting, reporting, and financial systems for a company with numerous entities and locations across the United States. This individual will be tasked with building out a top-notch accounting team, while creating new processes & procedures, implementing new systems, and taking on progressive challenges within a high-growth environment. This is a great opportunity for an Accounting leader to join an acquisitions-focused company with a strong financial backing in a high-exposure role.
Job duties will include the following:
- Driving the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and completeness in financial deliverables
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Executive review and Board reporting
- Review of financials to identify variances, trends and potential accounting issues
- Ensuring all entities are in compliance with company accounting guidelines and U.S. GAAP
- Developing and implementing best practices and robust monthly and annual close processes for corporate entity and partner/subsidiary entities
- Ensuring local subsidiary accounting teams are adequately supported to ensure financial reporting is accurate, while overseeing accounting for multiple locations and subsidiary entities
- Ensuring all technical accounting issues are addressed appropriately
- Leading the annual audit process with external Audit firm to ensure clean opinion
- Hiring, training, managing, and mentoring Accounting team members
- Special projects on an as-needed basis, including ERP implementations and system upgrades, FP&A support, and M&A integrations
To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications and other criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting (or related field, with substantial Accounting coursework)
- At least eight (8) years of progressive Accounting and/or Audit experience
- Active CPA license is strongly preferred
- Previous experience in a multi-entity and/or multi-location environment is highly desirable
- Prior background within public accounting is preferred
- Proven ability to lead, manage, develop, and mentor teams is necessary
- Full-cycle accounting experience, with proven knowledge of GAAP
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment, with strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus, attention to detail and proven leadership qualities
- Strong systems skills, including prior ERP implementation experience (Netsuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, etc.) is desirable
