Director of Accounting

This Director-level role will serve as a hands-on accounting leader for multiple corporate and subsidiary entities, while managing a team of direct-report Managers, along with Staff. Specific job duties will include the following:

– Oversight of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
– Preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
– Monitoring and enhancing internal controls, along with SOX compliance
– M&A support, including due diligence, accounting for transactions, and leading the integrations of newly-acquired entities
– Serving as a key point of contact for Big Four external auditors
– Monitoring budgets and performing high-level variance analysis of key accounts
– Working closely with internal teams such as FP&A, SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting, and Operations leaders
– Serving as a leader during special projects and other key initiatives.

Qualified candidates should have seven (7) or more years of accounting experience, along with a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting. CPA license is required, and public accounting (Audit) experience with a Big 4 or National CPA firm is preferred. At least two (2) years in a managerial position is necessary, along with strong leadership and communication skills. Previous experience within the Real Estate sector is preferred, although not required. This individual must have proven GAAP knowledge, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to effectively work cross-functionally within a dynamic business environment.
